About

Hi, guys! My name is Lindsay. I love writing, bullet journals, and hiking. I’m a travel-obsessed Torontonian with a tendency to stay on-the-move.  I developed a love for discovering new places and meeting new people during a study program in high school; six weeks was all it took to catch the travel bug!

Since then, I have been taking advantage of any, and all, opportunities to travel.  Whether it was jumping at the chance to pair studies with living in a new place, enjoying road trips with friends, or accepting jobs in remote regions for the sake of ‘an adventure’, I’ve grown to love the unpredictability and wonderful experiences that travel can bring to the table.

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

Ibn Battuta

While it might not be for everyone, I’ve come to find that a slightly nomadic life, where unchartered territory and experiences have become the ‘name of the game’, is something that brings me a lot of happiness and generates an endless supply of ‘food for thought’.  There are a few common threads that I’ve identified with travel:

  1. Whether I’ve been somewhere before or I haven’t, no two travel experiences are ever the same.
  2. Appearances can be deceiving and everyone has a story- there’s always something that you can learn when you take a moment to have a conversation with someone.
  3. No matter where I go, there is literally no substitute for an amazing cup of tea to bring you comfort (particularly when you get a bit homesick).

After a couple years of moving around, adventures, and preaching about my love of travel, I decided to try and start recording my experiences. I’ve put off releasing these stories for some time, so I’ll give you the ‘heads up’ that the majority of these posts aren’t going to be in chronological order. Instead, I’ll be posting pieces I’ve written over the past few years in a nonlinear fashion and I hope you enjoy my accounts of the conversations I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and the places I’ve been able to experience.

COVID-permitting, whether it’s taking a day trip to somewhere you’ve been ‘meaning to go’, finally checking out that new café you’ve had your eye on, or a trek around the world, I certainly hope that the posts on this website might inspire others to ‘give ‘er’ and go after their own adventures!
