As a born-and-raised Canadian, I have a very biased love and affinity for the country that I’m lucky enough to call ‘home’.
I love that our stereotypes often lead people to envision us as the overly-apologetic, flannel-clad, maple syrup-making, friendly neighbours to the North of the United States. I also love that we have such a vast, diverse nation (both in landscapes and the composition of our population).
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to live in four of our ten provinces (haven’t made it to any of our territories, though); I’m from Toronto, Ontario; I lived the better part of a four-year stint in Halifax, Nova Scotia; I decided to try the West Coast and resided in Vancouver, British Columbia for just shy of a year; and I lived in Lake Louise, Alberta for about two-and-a-half years.
In between all of the moving I’ve done, I endeavoured to pack in as many hikes, road trips, and adventures as possible. YOLO/FOMO is a real affliction and I’ve had it since I was about 16-years-old. While I don’t feel that photos or stories can ever really do our nation justice, this page is where you’ll find my attempts at detailing many of the adventures I’ve had, as well as the people I encountered along the way. Happy reading!
